Finance Tree was formed on the 18th April 2008. It is based on a management buyout of NStar Corporate Finance ltd by Jonathan Gold, at the time a director of NStar ltd the parent company and Peter Hiscocks a business angel and lecturer in entrepreneurship.

 The company has run the "NStar Finance & Business" investment readiness programme since 2006.

This extensive programme of training courses, web based software tools and mentor projects is sponsored and financed by ONE North East the regional development agency in the North East of England.
